Job Purpose

The Clinical Manager (CM) provides supervision to direct care staff and other supervisees while managing and leading the day-to-day operations of their assigned program.

Qualifications

  • Capable of conducting analytical evaluations and communicating with Director and other program stakeholders.
  • Preference will be given to persons with a master's degree in a Behavioral Health field.
  • Meet the minimum requirements to obtain clinical privileges by FCC Behavioral Health.
  • Clinical Managers for Mental Health programs must meet the Department of Mental Health’s definition of a Qualified Mental Health Professional.

Core Job Duties

  • Manage and lead the day-to-day program operations. Provide program coverage in areas of need, as necessary.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to include in the program’s annual plan and assist with the implementation of the plan (Strategic Plan related to clinical care).
  • Identify and address any front-line treatment/service issues (access, efficiency, effectiveness, experience).
  • Communicate issues and concerns, provide feedback and recommendations to the Director on a regular basis.
  • Conduct monthly focus groups with both clients and staff.
  • Organize and facilitate regular, structured clinical treatment team meetings and reviews cases, as assigned.
  • Provide direct care services. This may include crisis interventions to persons-served, so knowledge regarding civil involuntary detention procedures is required.
  • Conduct chart audits and communicate findings to staff. Develop and provide trainings/inservices to address chart audit findings/trends.
  • Provide clinical supervision to clinical staff on a regularly scheduled basis and document the session on the Agency’s Documentation of Supervision form in Unbound. The Clinical Manager may also provide supervision to non-clinical staff. Supervision sessions for non-clinical staff must occur on a regular basis, as well and documented on the Agency’s Documentation of Supervision form.
  • Monitor productivity of staff, assist staff in problem solving when concerns arise, and address any issues, as necessary.
  • Monitor program reporting such as late notes, no show rates, append/voids, etc., and addresses issues, as necessary.
  • Implement any plan to improve the program’s profitability, access to services, quality, etc.
  • Participate in and organize (as appropriate) community events/activities.
  • Work closely with the Director and team on a plan to improve the program and agency’s culture and environment and ensure that the program is honoring the agency’s mission and values.
  • Ensure the program is providing quality services by developing a thorough understanding of the program’s outcomes/measurements. Be familiar with the current status of the program’s outcomes. If outcome issues are identified, the CM will work with the Director on a plan to make improvements.
  • Develop and consistently follow a program communication plan to ensure information is effectively communicated to program staff.
  • Process emails and respond timely during business hours.
  • Monitor training plans of supervisees and ensure compliance.
  • Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
  • Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
  • Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
  • Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
  • Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
