Structural Designer

Job Summary: Seeking experienced Structural Designers specialized in shipbuilding, with proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling using Ship Constructor software for long-term contract roles.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of structural design experience within the shipbuilding industry utilizing AutoCAD and 3D modeling with Ship Constructor software.

• Familiarity with USCG, ABS, SOLAS and other government shipbuilding standards (i.e. NVR, NAVSEA, MIL).

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook).

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed structural drawings based on applicable specifications and work order instructions.

• Ensure that the design product and engineering deliverables conform to engineering design and customer specifications.

• Prepare BOM (Bills of Material) and consult with vendors on project-related activities.

• Coordinate design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.

 

 

 

 

Pay Details: $27.00 to $36.00 per hour
