Supervises all staff within the assigned clinical team and ensures the development, planning, implementation, and monitoring of quality services and supports for: adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or serious mental illnesses; and/or children with serious emotional disturbances and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities and their support systems. Staff must possess excellent computer skills; outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills; and above average written and spoken communication skills to effectively interact with staff, customers and community stakeholders. Additionally, the employee must exercise independent decision-making and work effectively in a team-based environment. The employee will complete other tasks as needed in various programs as assigned by supervisor.

Position Specific – Duties and Responsibilities

Job Specific:

· Supervises staff who develop and execute individual plans of service using self-determination principles.

· Ensures staff’s knowledge about and adherence to principles of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, family driven youth guided care.

· Leads the development of services and supports. Ensures implementation using established Level of Care Guidelines resulting in efficient and effective services.

· Coordinates, manages, and ensures services are provided as assigned (e.g. wraparound services, 24/7 emergency services, ACT, etc.)

· Provides leadership for system transformation. Supervises assigned work groups designed to establish high quality Evidence Based Practices, best practices, and promising practices.

· Ensures excellent teamwork in all aspects of service implementation through clinical staff meetings, Leadership and Clinical Leadership team meetings. Works collaboratively with all staff.

· Works collaboratively with other community service providers including law enforcement, Department of Human Services, school districts, courts and other community agencies on behalf of clients.

· Develop and maintain children’s clinical team through hiring, training and individual/group supervision

· Develop effective services and supports based on community needs including evidence-based practices.

· Coordinate and manage delivery of services based on trauma-informed recovery-oriented family driven youth guided care.

· Collaborate with internal and external partners to support community and client needs.

· Providing training to staff, agency and community.

· Complies with all policies and procedures of the agency.

· Computer Systems: All employees must possess a sufficient understanding of computer operation to be able to navigate in and out of software to effectively learn and utilize the Agency’s electronics systems and various software programs. All computer systems access and electronic activities must

Requirements:

Qualifications, Skills, and Conditions

Knowledge, Education and Training (licenses, programs, or certificates):

· Master Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field required.

· Mental Health Professional (MHP) designation as defined by the State of Michigan required. If providing Child therapy, Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) designation required, CPS-M required to supervise prevention staff, IMH III required to supervise infant mental health.

Experience: A minimum of two years of progressively more responsible or expansive experience in mental health related field is required. Three years of supervisory experience preferred. Lived experiences with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders valued.

Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Regularly requires a high level of interpersonal and communication skills such as resolving disagreements, disputes, or conflicts; leading training and educational sessions, making presentations, and applying formal counseling skills on a moderate level.

Guidance/Work Direction Received: Exercises considerable discretion in interpreting policies, procedures and practices and in selecting appropriate alternatives.

Supervisory or Managerial Responsibility: This is a second level manager position working through one or more subordinate managers.

Visual Concentration: Requires an average level of visual concentration.

Job Complexity: Regularly requires the use of data and information, which are typically a combination of factual and inferential elements. The steps, methods, or approaches followed in carrying out planning, problem-solving, analyzing, or decision-making are generally defined, but frequently require some modification, adaptation or creativity. Working Conditions:

· No unusual physical exertion is required.

· Tasks performed and the locations of the work are such that the incumbent’s exposure to accident and health hazards is unlikely.

Specific Requirements:

· Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license and a good driving record.

· High-level of computer skills, public speaking and presentation skills, excellent consensus building and creative strategic planning skills are required.

· Must be available to work a fully flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
