We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Maintenance Tech! This role is based in our facility in Preston, Idaho and reports to the Plant Manager.

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic individual who will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, and overhaul of mechanical systems used in fabrication. We are willing to train someone who is looking for a long-term career in manufacturing and has good mechanical aptitude! This position will focus primarily on the general upkeep, repair, preventative maintenance and safe operation of an assigned area and the equipment operating within.

The shift will be Tue - Fri from 6am until 4.30pm and will start at $27.00 per hour.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Plan and layout work assignments from complex blueprints, sketches, or verbal instruction and accomplish these assignments with the maximum efficiency.
  • Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair plant machinery, tooling, molds, equipment, systems, buildings, and physical structures.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up, and repair of machinery.
  • Competently and safely use all tools and operate all machine tools such as lathes and grinders for the efficient overhaul, maintenance or set-up of Plant equipment.
  • Provide training, instruction, and direction to apprentices or helpers assigned.
  • Know and keep familiar with all national and local codes as they affect repair and maintenance, safety, and construc­tion and dismantling of machinery, equipment, and structures.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep accurate maintenance records.
  • Work with other classifications of employees in emergency situations, in plant shutdown periods, and in times when machinery is not operating. Perform any duties necessary to get equipment and machinery back into operation in minimum time.
  • Complete maintenance request forms accurately and in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Maintain inventory levels and direct purchases of new tools and/or machinery.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older; High School diploma or certificate of completion is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset; some training will be provided..
  • Basic mechanical knowledge is required. Electrical troubleshooting skills and/or welding experience is considered a plus.
  • Must be eager to learn, self-motivated to work independently and have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety practices is necessary.
  • Must provide own safety boots and preferably own basic hand tools.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen.

  • Manufacturing plant environment
  • Requires good mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods (8+ hours), bending, climbing, and lifting up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • The use of hand tools, forklifts, overhead cranes
  • Fast-paced environment where a considerable amount of sensory attention is required
