SUMMARY

Responsible for ensuring that company products meet customers’ machining standards and specifications. Generally, is capable of working with basic prints, some geometrics / tolerancing, high skill level and setup experience; also capable of running most machines with little direct supervision.

Supervisory Responsibilities – None

Duties

  1. Completion of documentation ( Routers, etc.)
  2. Directly conducts machining of chamber product.
  3. Verify dimensions to blueprint using basic measuring instruments (calipers, tape measure, and height gage) and calculation tools to reach specifications.
  4. Basic setup on large lathes and large mills machines.
  5. Verify dimensions to blueprint using advanced measuring instruments (micrometers, pi tapes, dial bore gauge and calculation tools (scientific calculator) to reach specifications.
  6. Set-up and operate machines across all Class A work centers to support resource shortages and business demand.
  7. Will work with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, Sales, etc. in order to determine proper sequencing, procedures and priorities.
  8. Will work for other departments when necessary.

Tasks require walking, sitting, bending, reaching, mobility, frequent lifting and pushing/pulling. Work requires computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and data-entry), attention to detail and accuracy. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to balance multiple tasks and any stress associated with the duties and responsibilities of this position are essential requirements in the performance of this job.

Secondary duties with added requirements may be assigned from time to time.

General Qualifications:

  1. Able to read, understand and follow job-routing instructions accurately.
  2. Knows how to operate machining equipment in a safe manner.
  3. Able to test, and verify conformance to standards, using specific testing equipment, and/or by visual examination.

Education and/or Experience:

Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to graduation from High School, or that would provide required knowledge, skill and ability to successfully perform the assigned job duties.

Minimum 36 months of general machining experience, plus 12-months or equivalent of specific machining of stainless-steel components.

Language Skills

Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

Mathematical Skills

Reasoning Ability

Able to work in a fast paced shop, with quickly changing work priorities, and with minimal interaction to complete assignments on time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires work on the shop floor.

100% machining/shop floor environment; routine lifting to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance. Required to wear protective equipment, e g, eye and hearing protection where required.
