Landus Cooperative is seeking an individual to gain the knowledge and experience required for promotion to a custom applicator position under direction of experienced personnel by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Learn how to apply agronomy products to customer’s fields including dry and liquid fertilizer, chemicals, NH3, and lime.
  • Learn and understand the chemistry of the chemicals used with application.
  • Assist with outbound and inbound agronomy products.
  • Learn how to maintain & record maintenance of application equipment, tending equipment, NH3 equipment, pickups and side dress units.
  • Learn and understand how to record daily application logs.
  • Assist with measurement of inventory of dry and liquid fertilizers, NH3, lime, and chemicals.
  • Provide prompt, professional, and courteous customer service.
  • Learn and understand how to operate dry fertilizer plants, chemical containment buildings, and NH3 plants.
  • Learn how to maintain and understand records of chemical repackaging agreements and shuttle record keeping.
  • Understand and perform entries in RCI CAP and PM programs.
  • Understand customer licensing requirements for restricted-use pesticides.
  • Understand the capabilities and limitations of equipment (floaters, rogators, tool bars, etc.).
  • Champion of safety compliance throughout organization.
Requirements:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and related experience and/or training.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Commercial pesticide applicators license with 1A, 1B, 1C endorsements or able to obtain one.
  • Must have a valid CDL driver’s license with air brake, tanker, and hazardous materials endorsements or be able to obtain one.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
