What you will do
Johnson Controls has an exciting opportunity for a Creo Design Specialist! This is a remote position that manages and provides Creo drafting and design support to the engineering department by assuming full drafting responsibility for assigned projects. The position will work in a team environment with Engineering and Project Management to ensure successful product builds.
How you will do it
Displays proficient project management skills
Determining scope of work required and timeline
Presents plan of execution to management with resource, timeline and execution schedule
Continually monitor design project to identify potential risk and makes adjustments when/where necessary
Prepares layouts of subassemblies or portions of projects that require a high degree of precision and expertise from engineering data in one or more of the following areas
Mechanical:
System/Chiller layouts
Pneumatic & Instrumentation Diagrams (flow diagram)
Pressure vessel code and weldment
Sheet metal fabrication.
Pipe routing
Electrical:
System wiring layouts & wiring schematics
Electrical control panel and or sheet metal enclosure layouts & wiring schematics
Point to point schematics
Device wiring details
Research how change requests impact other models and options. Take precaution to avoid any unintended effects.
Conduct research to resolve problems with engineering, marketing, manufacturing and vendors
Prepares data for Engineering Order Manual understanding project requirements, features and options
Have proficient knowledge of SAP or other Material Resource Planning software to investigate existing material and Bills of Material
Demonstrates proficient knowledge of manufacturing processes and develop designs that are well aligned with manufacturing capabilities
Demonstrates proficient knowledge of design procedures such as retrieving and apply information from engineering standards and schematics, purchasing and manufacturing specifications for preparation, release and revision of drawings and Bills of Material
Demonstrate proficient knowledge and use of engineering and commercial standards for design application and conformance as related to job
Exercise leadership by mentoring less experienced team members by sharing technical and practical knowledge
Lead the work and professional development of more junior drafters
Assist Engineers with task level engineering duties including but not limited to selection of chiller components, weight distribution, airflow calculations, heat transfer calculations, and electromechanical systems.
What we look for
Required
Technical/Associate Degree is required with 10 years of experience in design/drafting
Minimum 5 years of 3D design software (CREO experience required) and 2D design software (preferably AutoCAD)
Displays basic knowledge of PDM software (Windchill)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
