As they expand their operations, we are seeking an experienced Maintenance and Reliability Engineer for their facility in Hobart, NY. Summary of Position:

The Maintenance and Reliability Engineer will play a pivotal role in establishing and enhancing systems related to Production Maintenance. With a focus on achieving excellence through industry best practices, this position will drive the optimization of work processes and administrative controls to ensure maximum utility and Total Cost of Ownership for all equipment.

Essential Functions:

  • Improve production line performance through effective preventative maintenance, timely problem-solving, equipment enhancements, and personnel training.
  • Provide maintenance support in alignment with FDA guidelines, cGMP, and internal operating procedures.
  • Coordinate and schedule outside services as necessary.
  • Lead or support projects as required.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and safety among maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Actively participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives.
  • Promote and implement lean/six sigma/continuous improvement tools.
  • Implement measures to baseline maintenance performance and establish improvement targets.
  • Develop and enhance methodologies and work practices for Preventative and Predictive Maintenance.
  • Utilize statistical tools to transition time-based maintenance into frequency-based or Reliability Centered Maintenance.
  • Collaborate with engineers to standardize work instructions, return to service protocols, and equipment risk profiles.
  • Optimize spare parts inventory in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Use metrics to inform asset replacement decisions.
  • Provide electronics troubleshooting and repair, including AC and DC drives and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Improve equipment reliability through vendor collaboration and part substitution.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and reliable maintenance and operation of equipment.

Department Specific/Non-Essential Functions:

  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations and procedures.
  • Conduct incident investigations and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in electrical, electronic, and mechanical maintenance.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience in pharmaceutical maintenance/reliability within a Manufacturing Plant environment.
  • CMMS experience, preferably with Maximo.
