Shipping Supervisor

GHP Media is currently seeking a full-time Shipping Supervisor.  

GHP Media is a leader in providing communication channels for renown clients throughout the world.   Specializing in the production of high-end books, posters brochures, direct mail, signage, along with many other print related items. 

The role of Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day shipping and receiving function and supervising the shipping, receiving, and warehouse team, ensuring smooth operation of all activities.  

• Requirements 

• 3 years of logistics and shipping experience 

• Experience in LTL and FT freight rating, pricing. 

• Experience in coordinating of shipping materials across the US and Canada. 

• Experience preparing accurate shipping documents in accordance with company and customer needs.  

• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, requests, and deadlines.  

• Problem solving skills on shipping or scheduling issues.  

• Strong computer skills utilizing internal systems, vendor portals and Microsoft Excel.  

• Excellent communication skills in working with both internal and external customers and vendors.  

• Strong time management skills 

• Ability to direct the management administration and operation of various systems in support of the shipping and receiving departments 

• Responsibilities 

• Schedule and coordinate a team of 8 shipping and receiving personnel. 

• Prioritizing daily tasks and future needs 

• Determine method of shipments utilizing knowledge of shipping routes and rates to satisfy customer requirements.  

• Act as a point of contact for shipping carriers. 

• Ensure health and safety of employees in accordance with company policies and procedures. 

• Maintain continuous improvement environment and process. 

• Develop and continue to update procedures on managing equipment both internal and external. 

• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies. 

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, Loss Control, and facility safety guidelines.  

• Ability to lift up to 65 pounds.
