Facility Mechanic An ADP client is currently recruiting for an experienced individual to be our next Facility Mechanic to join our team in our Wilmington, DE 19801 location. About the Role: The Mechanic role will be performing duties to installing, maintaining, repairing, replacing, and rebuilding pumps, motors and other similar mechanical plant equipment elements and units and perform required preventive maintenance routines working within the guidelines of food safety and within the limits of standard or accepted methods and procedures. What You Will Do:Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Works from schedules, manuals, procedures, and instructions. Responds to directives or work orders and inspect designated equipment. Diagnoses causes of faulty operation or breakdown. Tears down units as required, determine the need for replacement of parts, mechanisms or complete units as required to facilitate most efficient return of plant equipment to proper operating condition. Returns defective units or mechanisms to shop area, disassemble, requisition, replace and rework worn or broken parts or mechanisms, rebuild units, test and complete required repairs and refurbishments. Records work performed and parts and materials used. Cleans, lubricates, oils, and greases assigned plant equipment at all designated points to perform preventive maintenance routines. Checks oil level and replenish as required. Records maintenance routines performed including equipment identification, date and special conditions encountered. Assists other mechanics working on major plant equipment repairs and refurbishments as directed. Performs a range of corrective mechanical maintenance operations under direction. Assists with off season plant refurbishing and cleaning operations as directed, working on any range of plant equipment or facilities. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor or management. Other Duties May Include, But Are Not Limited To: Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups as directed and maintain required level of knowledge pertaining to operating procedures, requirements, processes, and policies. Follows safety rules, ensure safe operating conditions within area of responsibility, wear required personal protective equipment and clothing, and keep work area in clean and orderly condition. Performs or assists with any assignments as required or directed. Participates in general plant cleaning and daily sanitation routines in any assigned area or operation. Physical and Environmental Requirements: Carries/Lifts/Moves/Pushes from moderate to heavy equipment up to (50 pounds) fifty pounds. Frequently climbs stairs and ladders and access ways. Is exposed to dirt, dust, heat, cold and/or inclement weather. Our Perfect Candidate Education and Experience: High school diploma OR GED. Minimum two (2) years mechanical/refrigeration experience in related job functions required. Experienced with pumps for facility maintenance and repairs. Clean and valid Delaware driver’s license. Transfer ID Card (Homeland Security) Company Offers: Hourly rate is $20.00 will be commensurate with experience and education. Rewards and recognition for superior performance-bonus, based on a fiscal July-June year, can make up over 7% of base compensation.
