Assisted Living Unit Manager-LPN

Peaceful Pines Senior Living is committed to providing exceptional care and service with compassion. Our community offers a total of 30 independent living units, 29 assisted living units, and 32 memory care units located in the beautiful Black Hills.

This position will be responsible for the safety and well-being of our residents, along with the supervision of care staff. LPN will provide support in daily compliance with federal and state regulations, nursing department policies and procedures, and standard of care for our residents. The nurse will report to the Director of Nursing and agrees to comply with and perform the duties and responsibilities as described below. In addition, this role may be asked to perform functions not listed below.

NURSE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:

• Ensures the well-being and protection of every resident through the delivery of high-quality care.
• Promotes and supports a positive work environment focused on team building and collaboration.
• Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent personal or health information concerning residents and staff.
• Ensures that all the needs are met for the residents as well as supervises staff that is on the shift.
• Ensures that any incident reports are completed properly and promptly.
• Prepares necessary medical paperwork for all scheduled resident appointments.
• Assists with compliance in meeting regulations and is available for state licensure surveys.
• Maintains resident files and appropriate documents as required.
• Assists Medication Aides and CNAs in service delivery and training as requested.
• Assists with requesting and entering doctors' orders that are received. Assist with medication changes.
• Performs inventory management for medication administration by Medication Aides and checks new medications from the pharmacy.
• Communicates with staff any information that they need to be aware of.
• Assists with picking up shifts as needed.
• Actively available for on-call rotation.
• Schedules care conferences and updates care plans in accordance with regulations.
• Reviews, edits, and creates nursing policy drafts to be reviewed and finalized by the administrator/DON.
• Obtains, administers, and documents prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and facility standards of practice.
• Observes residents, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor, family (responsible party), and physician of residents change in condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
• Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of resident.
• Keeps resident family and physician informed of any changes in resident behavior, medications, or conditions of health.
• Other duties as needed or assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Familiarity with PointClickCare software.
• Previous experience in a leadership role in an assisted living community.
• Holds an active and unencumbered license.
• Minimum of two years' experience as a nurse in a healthcare facility.

LPN COMPENSATION:

• FT, non-exempt, hourly employee of Peaceful Pines Senior Living.
• Generally, 40 hours per week. From time-to-time additional hours may be required for special projects or for temporary increased workload, which may include weekends or holidays.
• $30.00 - $33.00/hour depending on experience
