Summary/Objective (role description):

The role of the Inventory Control Specialist: Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for production reporting, vendor receipt entry, Kanban management, work order management, Inventory Control/analysis/cycle counting, scrap reporting, WIP balances and any other inventory management issues that arise.

Essential Functions (duties and tasks summary):

Team members must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodations, the essential functions of the role which may include, but are not limited to the following:
  1. Responsible for inventory data analysis.
  2. Responsible for direction/supervision of Production Control Support Team.
  3. Responsible for reporting analysis to upper management.
  4. Actively works with cycle count team to improve inventory accuracy.
  5. TKRS production reporting analysis and monitoring.
  6. Responsible for ensuring all data entry is completed in a timely manner.
  7. Responsible for daily cycle counts are completed by team members.
  8. Support and work with supervisors and managers to determine capabilities and communicate those to the rest of the team.
  9. Responsible for monitoring and fixing WIP imbalances.
  10. Responsible for working directly with Accounting on various reporting points, projects, and API.
  11. Must be flexible and able to work in all areas in your department regardless of duties listed above in order to accomplish TAC goals and objectives.


Work Environment (example):

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to conditions of heat in the summer and cold in the winter and will work near moving mechanical parts. Uniform clothing and PPE provisions are provided by the company and are designed to assist with these conditions. Team members are also exposed to noise, which may require the use of hearing protection in certain areas.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work (example):

This is a full-time shift-work position. Overtime is required as needed to meet customer demand and may involve weekend work.

Qualifications:

Skills and abilities based on requirements that are job-related and consistent with business necessity include:

  • Knowledge of operating a powered industrial truck.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of general accounting practices.

Education and Experience:
  1. Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or five (5) years' experience in a manufacturing environment is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Supply Chain Management background preferred.
