TITLE: Non-CDL Box Truck Driver Quality Assurance Manager

LOCATION: Based in LaBelle, FL (or Southwest FL region)


FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt (Eligible for Overtime)


SUMMARY: Safely operate and deliver fresh produce using a 26-foot box truck. Versed in DOT safety regulations, inspections, maintenance, and on-time deliveries. Reliable and committed to getting to each location efficiently. Customer-focused and strong communicator with the ability to effectively interact with dispatchers. Possess good driving records and be able to drive box trucks for long distances. Proficient in unloading and loading materials, inspecting goods, and maintaining vehicle logs.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely operate, deliver, and pick-up refrigerated produce in the southwest region of Florida and the south region of Georgia using a 26-foot box truck with a gross vehicle weight of less than 25,000lbs
  • Driving trucks to move cargo between locations according to predetermined schedules and within legal limits set by federal, state, and local regulations
  • Ensure that all products are loaded properly in trucks so that it will ensure the products are undamaged upon arrival
  • Unloading and loading cargo or materials from trucks or trailers using hand tools or forklifts, cranes, or other equipment
  • Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle to ensure they are safe for use on the road
  • Work closely with and assist the Quality Assurance team as needed
  • Travel is required
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
  • Understand and follow DOT regulations
  • Written and spoken fluency in English and Spanish are preferred
  • Lift-gate and forklift experience are preferred
  • Strong, positive communication skills
  • Knowledgeable and current in customer standards and regulations
  • Understand quality control standards, will train if necessary
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Box Truck Driving experience required
  • Experience working in fresh produce industry is preferred
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
