Job Title: Production Shift Supervisor
Work Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 3 days on, 3 days off, as determined by Production Manager
Reporting To: Production Manager
Location: Lebec, CA
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Production Shift Supervisor to join our team. The Production Shift Supervisor will play a vital role in optimizing production processes, ensuring product quality, and effectively managing resources. This position requires coordination across various production units, monitoring shift operations, and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision and Coordination:
- Supervise a team of 5 employees, ensuring smooth operation of the plant.
- Collaborate closely with the control room supervisor to address any issues related to plant equipment and operations.
- Make decisions to optimize plant production and efficiency.
- Assist in planning and coordinating plant activities.
2. Operations Management:
- Inspect plant equipment and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Delegate tasks effectively and prioritize workload.
- Organize and direct plant tasks to meet production targets.
3. Communication and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate logs, memos, and notes related to plant operations.
- Utilize communication tools such as email and telephone for coordination and reporting.
- Attend and contribute to meetings as required.
4. Equipment Handling:
- Ascend/descend plant structures as necessary for inspections or supervision.
- Operate a pick-up truck to travel to and from plant sites.
- Retrieve necessary parts, tools, or equipment for the work crew.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related fields.
- 2-5 years of experience in production coordination or engineering roles within the cement or construction materials industry.
- Strong expertise in Cement Kiln Operations with an in-depth understanding of the burning process.
- Proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving.
- Familiarity with production management software and tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of safety and environmental regulations.
