An independently owned and operated Maaco Collision Repair and Auto Painting franchisee is seeking to hire energetic and dependable Paint Prepper/Detailers to assist Paint Technicians in preparing vehicles for painting. Experience is a plus but not essential. We will train the right attitude. Workdays and hours are Monday - Friday 8 to 5. No weekends! Apply now for this great opportunity!

Responsibilities - Auto Body Paint Prepper/Detailer:

• Assist Paint Technician in preparing vehicle for painting including cleaning, blocking, sanding, masking, and more.
• Wash vehicles to remove dirt, grease and debris from painted surfaces
• Prepare vehicle for repair by priming and sanding parts and panels for painting
•  Locate and remove imperfections on panels
• Apply tape to protect unpainted surfaces such as bumpers, windows, chrome trim, etc
• Smooth and sand unmasked surfaces
• Work closely with Paint Technician mixing paint
•  After vehicle is painted, remove tape and clean, wet-sand and buff freshly painted surfaces
• Inspect for quality workmanship, noting any unprimed areas, runs, etc.
• Prepare vehicle for customer delivery
• Perform proper tool and equipment usage and maintenance
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area

Requirements - Auto Body Paint Prepper/Detailer:

• Experience with auto body sanding, masking, etc. is preferred. Training is provided
• Ability to stand and bend for extended periods of time
• A good work ethic and positive attitude
• Good communication skills and pays attention to details
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
• Working knowledge of body shop equipment and tools is a plus
• Basic mechanical understanding of automobiles
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent
