Ettie Lee Youth & Family Services has served the complex needs of at-risk youth with emotional and behavioral problems and their families throughout Southern California for nearly 70 years.

Currently, Ettie Lee is seeking Child Care Workers/Direct Care Staff (Overnight/NOC) for its Office of Refugee Resettlement Program (ORR)

The Position:

Direct Care Staff will work with families placed in a 24/7 residential setting by ORR. As a member of the ORR Team, the Direct Care Staff is vital in setting the tone, direction and priorities of the residents by utilizing a Trauma-Informed Approach. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the daily living environment of the home including supporting clients in school
  • Work closely with therapists and are under the coordination of the Administrators and the Program Manager
  • Providing daily leisure-time and recreation activities
  • Ensuring medical and dental needs are met
  • Preparing and distributing meals and clothing shopping
  • Documentation of client progress
  • Maintaining a safe and clean living environment

Direct Care Staff are crucial to the Ettie Lee team as they provide direct care to the families served. They must come to the position with a great amount of dedication, acceptance and understanding. It is important they are resilient with a great deal of "bounce back" due to the pressures of the work.

Must have one of the following qualifications:

  • Have a Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree (preferred but not required)
  • Have a high school diploma
  • Have previously been employed as a staff or volunteer at an ORR program.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass criminal/fingerprinting background check, TB Test, physical exam and drug test
  • Must have all immunizations (MMR, TDaP, Varicella (Chicken Pox)
  • Must have a valid California Driver’s License, a minimum of 5 years of driving experience and a DMV record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier
  • Must be 21 years or older

Hours and Shifts:

Status: Full-Time

The shift for this position is Sunday- Wednesdays. All available shifts are afternoon into evening hours. Your schedule will be determined in the interviewing process.
