ORE - Shift 2 ($.55) (United States of America - Oregon)

A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Operations Tech, Wax Tooling, performs tasks related to issuing tooling to wax operators and for maintaining and repairing tooling in accordance with established policies, practices, and procedures. The Operations Tech, Wax Tooling reports to Supervisor, Operations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Completes all required training.

  • Follow designated safety rules and regulations.

  • Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.

  • Dimensionally inspect work, using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; calipers, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface plates, etc. as required.

  • Perform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule.

  • Detect report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.

  • Use hand truck, pallet jack, carts and tables to safely transport product.

  • Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.

  • Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products

  • Perform different types of operations based on manufacturing needs

  • Assist in training of personnel as directed by the department Supervisor or Lead.

  • Reinforces safety expectations.  Ensures safety operating practices are demonstrated.  Reports issues/concerns to Supervisor.

  • Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).

  • Receive, store and issue dies to wax operators as required by production planning; stage dies for availability to all shifts.

  • Collect wax pallets, ceramic pour cups, and maintain the recycle wax bins rotation.

  • Assist in identification of tooling needing rework or maintenance.

  • Perform hand and machining operations to perform minor repairs/modifications and part salvage.

  • Clean and lubricate dies after operation; perform insert changes to dies as needed.

  • Mark dies with part numbers and other identifying information as needed.

  • Maintain record of all dies sent to outside vendor for rework, repair, cleaning; notify engineering upon return.

  • Inspect dies for damage prior to returning to storage, report damage to supervisor or department lead.

  • Performs quarterly PM inspections on all tool and dies in the tool room to decrease rework.


EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Or Equivalent (Preferred)


EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ Year Prior Work Experience (Required)

  • Manufacturing Experience (Preferred)

  • Operations Experience (Preferred)
