POSITION DESCRIPTION

I. TITLE OF POSITION: Director of Human Resources

II. NATURE OF POSITION: The Director of Human Resources guides and manages the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the company. The Director of Human Resources develops an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance.

III. QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a similar qualifying field, is required.
  2. Five years of Human Resource experience is preferred.
  3. SHRM or HRCI certification is a plus.
  4. General knowledge of various employment laws and practices and experience working with a corporate employment law attorney, are required.
  5. Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources recognition and engagement programs and processes, is required.
  6. Supervisor experience, preferred.
  7. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  8. Strategic thinker with the ability to align HR initiatives with business objectives.

VI. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals and drive business performance.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR initiatives with overall business strategies.

Talent Acquisition and Management

  • Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Develop and implement effective onboarding and employee development programs.

Employee Relations

  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture by promoting open communication and resolving workplace issues.
  • Implement and enforce HR policies and procedures to ensure fair and consistent treatment of all employees.

Performance Management

  • Design and implement performance management systems to drive employee development and enhance overall performance.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers in conducting performance reviews and addressing performance issues.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Manage and evaluate the company's compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Regularly review and update the compensation structure based on market trends and internal equity considerations.

Employee Engagement

  • Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to enhance job satisfaction and overall workplace morale.
  • Conduct regular surveys and assessments to measure and improve employee satisfaction.

Legal Compliance

  • Stay abreast of labor laws and regulations, ensuring the company's HR policies and practices remain compliant.
  • Mitigate legal risks by addressing and resolving employment-related issues promptly and effectively.

The Director of Human Resources assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the COO.
