Dispatcher

PURPOSE.

Fuchs Trucking, in business for 60 years, seeks a full-time Dispatcher to support our growing fleet of 100 trucks. The shift for this position will be days, 7 am to 5 pm, and rotating on-call weekends.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Track truckloads in a timely fashion by communicating with drivers, dispatchers, and customer representatives regarding pickup, deliveries, and status updates.
• Maintain accurate computer dispatch and scheduling records to ensure smooth and accurate communication flow.
• Ensure the driver has all paperwork and load info necessary to complete their load satisfying both customer expectations and HOS regulations.
• Maintain a respectful attitude when dealing with drivers, co-workers, potential customers, to help foster existing relationships and build new ones.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
• Effective with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Desire to learn and grow as part of a collaborative team.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• 2-5 years of trucking, transportation, and logistics experience.
• Experience using transportation management software Prophesy Dispatch or equivalent.

Transportation Brokerage Experience.

• Experience with load boards and rate negotiations.
• Familiarity with Hours-of-Service Regulations.
