The Department of Military & Veterans Affairs (DMVA) is looking for an Architectural Consultant for their Division of Engineering and Architecture. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This is professional architectural consulting work in the design and review of construction project coordination and management for DMVA and other capital improvement construction projects. In this role, you will prepare detailed architectural designs for new construction and alterations to existing facilities; provide oversight and quality control for work completed in-house and by outside design firms; conduct feasibility surveys for the project site or facility; coordinate architectural design parameters with civil specialty disciplines to ensure complete and usable facilities are designed and constructed; and review completed projects with department staff.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch.
  • Travel and overtime as needed
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days a week, on Monday and Friday. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Annville.
  • Travel, schedule, and telework may change based on operational need.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Architectural Designer 2; or
  • Three years of professional architectural experience in building renovation or preservation and new construction for commercial, institutional, government, or educational buildings or structures, and a bachelor's degree in architecture, architectural engineering, or a closely related field which included major course work in architectural design; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement
  • All positions require active licensure as a registered architect by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or a reciprocal jurisdiction; or an active certification as issued by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).

Other Requirements:
  • You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
