The plant in Sparta is part of a global, German company with over 7,000 self-adhesive products and system solutions and about 5,000 employees worldwide. We are searching for our next collaborative Procurement Manager . The Procurement Manager, North America, is responsible for managing North American regional spend for Direct Materials (e.g., Solvents, Natural Rubber, Polypropylene Resin, Adhesives, etc.) and supporting R&D Product Development Projects. The position is responsible to manage the categories in alignment with Global Category Strategies while maintaining supplier relationships and stakeholder engagement. What you will do: Develop & maintain purchasing strategy for assigned categories for tesa tape North America (ttNA) Manage existing supply base to control / reduce the cost level for tesa and ensure continuous supply Identify and qualify North American suppliers for North America (NA), Europe and Asia Establish purchasing contracts as needed for strategic suppliers Provide material cost forecast for identified spend Support further development of tesa tape corporate purchasing standards, tools and methods in ttNA Close coordination with GP Global Category and Supplier Managers, Marketing, TD?PD and Supply Chain Define and execute purchasing objectives in ttNA R&D projects Identify and qualify NA suppliers for new tesa products with a focus on supplier innovation Identify, bundle and negotiate Raw Materials for ttNA serial production Identification and qualification of alternative suppliers Solve or escalate supply bottlenecks and supplier quality issues What you will need: Bachelor of Science degree required (Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration or relevant field); Master’s degree is a plus Three or more years of experience within a strategic purchasing function required. North American chemical purchasing markets experience is a plus Cross functional experience required Tape / adhesive / chemical industry experience is a plus Proven track record in developing / applying state of the art industrial purchasing tools and methods Demonstrated understanding and experience in industrial product development processes Ability to effectively interact within multiple hierarchal levels Intercultural / international project experience preferred Proficient in Windows / Microsoft Office; experience with ERP platforms (SAP is a plus) Able to travel domestically and internationally – approximately 25% #J-18808-Ljbffr
