Job Description

Supports the Chief Financial Officer in ensuring that the Company’s accounting processes are fully compliant with standards and that the Company maintains and utilizes a set of sound internal control processes. Prepares finance/accounting and billing related reports for the Company and its affiliates. Analyzes financial reports and records, makes recommendations relative to the accounting issues. Coordinate with subject matter experts within the operating departments to collect and document appropriate assumptions regarding capital costs, operating expense, subscriber penetration, revenue, regulated cost recovery, pricing, and other relevant variables to build and maintain sophisticated business case models within MS Excel. Conducts special studies and recommends accounting methods and procedures. Develop and perform business case analysis to use in decision-making and evaluation of strategic alternatives. Assists with budgeting, loans and other accounting, auditing, and financial reports as needed.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

§ Builds business case models in MS Excel for evaluation of strategic alternatives regarding new product lines, choice of technology, new lines of business, pricing changes, competitive response, acquisition/divestiture, and partnerships.

§ Performs sensitivity/risk analysis of variables in business case models.

§ Documents all methods and assumptions for business cases.

  • Maintain financial forecast model and prepare internal financials.
  • Perform financial statement analysis including identifying and reviewing significant variances.
  • Assists in the budget process and provides monthly budget analysis.
  • Coordinates evaluation of pricing decisions required to establish initial prices, modify prices, and respond to RFPs.
  • Documents all methods and assumptions used to set and modify prices.
  • Ensures pricing consistency in responding to RFPs.
  • Develops pricing strategy in support of product bundling and integrated service packaging.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all business case models conform to existing tariff/price lists and changes to pricing are updated in the tariff/price lists in advance of being offered to customers.
  • Prepare analysis of new products/services and/or proposed pricing changes to ensure profitability.
  • Assists in federal and state grant reimbursement process, prepares packets for final review prior to submission, and tracks progress.
  • Works on special projects at the direction of the Chief Financial Officer.
