Job Description
HNM Systems provides direct hire, contract to hire, and professional placement to the Telecommunications, Utilities, and IT sectors. HNM also offers turn-key engineering services for the design of outside and inside plant, power utility, and Wi-Fi systems. The telecommunications, utilities, and IT industries are essential to buildout affordable broadband networks and strengthen cybersecurity for decades to come.
Our client is looking for a Technician for a new amusement park construction project in Orlando.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and resolve problems in structured cabling systems
- Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures
- Measure, cut, bend, assemble and install cable tray using measuring devices and hand tools
- Correctly set up and operate copper and fiber optic testing equipment
- Perform overhead and underground layout and rough-in
- Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor
- Assemble and install relay racks, network cabinets, wall fields and associated components
- Conduct thorough inspections of cable lines to ensure the system is working correctly
- Terminate, Install, and run CAT6 cable
Requirements:
- Communication skills with the ability to successfully collaborate with other members of the team
- Strong knowledge of industry standard cable specifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history
- Commitment to abiding by OSHA and all other safety standards and procedures
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
- Ability to comprehend and operate appropriate testing equipment (e.g. signal level meters, ohm meters)
- Rack and stack work, closet work, putting together server racks, patch panels
- Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA, or NEC Standards;
- Experience with CAT 5 and CAT 6.
