Job Description

We are seeking a Port Harbor Team member to join our team at the Port of Peninsula As a member of the Port Harbor Team, you will be responsible for various tasks related to the operation and maintenance of the marina facilities and other properties owned by the port district. This role includes ensuring the safety and assisting port tenants, users, and visitors as required while assisting in various marina operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Motivated Self Starter: Must be able to work in teams and alone as needed to accomplish necessary tasks.

2. Overtime as Necessary: Dangerous situations can happen anytime and our team members must be willing to work overtime as necessary to remediate those situations.

3. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to marina tenants, users and visitors.

4. Facility Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs to marina docks, piers, fixed cranes, and other structures to ensure they are safe and functional.

5. Safety Compliance: Ensure personal compliance with port safety procedures whenever working.

6. Cleaning and Upkeep: Keep the marina area clean, usable and presentable, including trash removal and general cleanliness.

7. Assist in Events: Assist in executing marina events and activities.

8. Equipment Operation: Safely operate marina equipment, such as forklifts, fixed cranes, fuel dispensing equipment and small boats, for various tasks.

9. Record Keeping: Maintain records of marina activities, including boat registrations, dock assignments and fuel tracking

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in marina operations or related field is a plus.

• Strong customer service skills.

• Physical ability to perform manual labor (lift 50 lbs) and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Fixed crane experience a plus

• Living near port facilities a plus

• Forklift driving experience a plus

• Prior oil response training a plus

• Marine construction experience a plus

• Hazmat training a plus

• Will train the right candidate
