JOB SUMMARY
Chastain & Associates LLC (Chastain) has an exciting opportunity for a Director - Civil Engineer - Transportation working with public or private infrastructure projects. Qualified candidates will work in a collaborative environment with our team and alongside clients from private to municipal, state, and federal jurisdictions. This role will lead Chastain's Transportation Department across 6 offices. This role has the potential for promotion to an Office Manager and future company ownership, should the candidate have that desire and exhibit the necessary leadership qualities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- 15+ years of experience working on IDOT roadway and bridge design projects.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in the state of Illinois.
- Experience managing, leading, and mentoring employees.
- Experience with geometrics, drainage, and maintenance of traffic a plus.
- Experience in following IDOT policies and procedures for Phase I and II designs and preparing Various/Various contracts a plus.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading Chastain's Transportation Department and overseeing and mentoring multiple Project Managers across multiple offices.
- Managing and tracking the Department's Backlog.
- Leading Department Staffing Coordination Meetings.
- Manage client relationships and actively cultivate new business connections.
- Work with Business Development Team to identify IDOT PTB Items to pursue.
- Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Checks on all projects to uphold Chastain's principle of superior service to all our clients.
- Managing and designing current IDOT Phase I and II engineering projects as well as County and Municipal Transportation projects.
- Interpret specifications and drawings, recommend and document design modifications, and coordinate with the design team.
- Assist with and prepare proposals to obtain new transportation projects.
