The Comprehensive Stroke Neurology Nurse Practitioner NP will be part of a locally based and locally-managed non-profit healthcare organization that is known for providing the community with quality services for the past 60 year. The Comprehensive Stroke Neurology Nurse Practitioner NP will be accountable for staff functions which enhance the delivery of patient care in accordance with the standards of nursing practice through education, role modeling, standards development, quality improvement, program development and coordination. This role focuses on the neurosurgical patient population, including neurosurgical  trauma. 

The Comprehensive Stroke Neurology Nurse Practitioner NP will work in collaboration with directors, clinical managers and other Nurse Pracititioner positions.  The Comprehensive Stroke Neurology Nurse Practitioner NP will establish clinical performance criteria and contributing to the analysis and appraisal of staff performance results through assessment of clinical abilities.

The Comprehensive Stroke Neurology Nurse Practitioner NP will coordinate orientation for staff to new procedures and care standards, provide in-services, policy development, and coordinate educational goal setting and participating in long-range educational planning.  The Comprehensive Stroke Neurology Nurse Practitioner NP will participate in quality improvement activities ensuring compliance with regulatory/accreditation standards. 

The Comprehensive Stroke Neurology Nurse Practitioner NP will collaborate with other members of the management team to promote the provision of effective, high quality patient care to all patients.  The ideal candidate should have inpatient and outpatient Stroke Neurosciences clinical experience with ability to evaluate patient's physical and emotional status in different age groups.
