Here at Rome Grinding Solutions, our machining team operates computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools, such as lathes and milling machines, to cut and produce precision parts for our world renowned Meat Grinders. Our machinists repair or produce parts using both manual and automated equipment with precise measurements. The goal of our machining department is to ensure effective production operations and optimize procedures, with the understanding that production output is critical to organizational success. As a machinist at Rome Grinding Solutions, you will operate equipment under the supervision of our Machining Supervisor. Rome Grinding Solutions is looking for a reliable, trustworthy employee who understands the importance of hard work and time sensitive production to fulfill this role.
Responsibilities
Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines;
Maintain clean equipment and safe work environment
Follow all prescribed safety regulations; willing to wear all safety gear
Measure, examine, and test completed parts/units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications
Read blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products, determine product
dimensions and tolerances
Manage time, efficiency and performance
Ability to meet goals, quotas, deadlines
Skills/Qualifications
Must be familiar with the basic functions of a CNC machine
Skilled in milling, turning, drilling, taping, deburring, etc.
Ability to work in an environment that has conditions that change regularly
Able to stand for long periods of time
Able to lift up to 50 pounds with assisting tools such as a hoist
Ability to manage time, efficiency and performance
Team-oriented; works well on a team and independently
Manual dexterity, eye for detail
Programing manual, semi-automated, automated tools and machines a plus
Ability to use precision tools; calipers, etc. to take accurate measurements
High School degree or equivalent
Maintains safe work environment
6:00AM - 4:30 PM (Monday-Thursday)
6:00AM - 12:00 PM (Friday)
