GENERAL PURPOSE:

 

Under general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the physician is responsible for quality and completeness of assigned medical services at any of the corporation clinic sites.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

 

  • Examines, diagnosis, prescribes and administers treatment to patients
  • Supervises and directs family nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other mid-level providers
  • Oversees the performance of nursing and other support personnel
  • Reviews laboratory, x-ray findings and diagnosis other tests
  • Documentation/Completion of EHR/Medical Records and keep case histories in accordance with the corporation’s procedures
  • Participates in consumer education and in-service training for support personnel
  • Meets all the contractual requirements
  • Quality of care (Quality Measures) and participation in Peer Review
  • Provide virtual care services. You will speak with patients over the phone and video to assess their needs, gather important clinical history, diagnose, and provide appropriate clinical guidance or treatment.
  • Manage a panel of primary care patients and provide comprehensive care (including acute care, chronic disease management, and preventive care) to improve health outcomes and quality.
  • Act as supervising physician to nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
  • Must be able to use manual dexterity while using office equipment such as computers, laptops, keyboard, and mouse. Ability to perform multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to work assigned shifts including evening and weekend requirements per contract.
  • Ability to perform job functions independently. Ability to arrive on time to shifts, complete shifts as scheduled and maintain excellent attendance.

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

 

  • Must hold MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Must have completed and approved internship
  • Must hold a valid California State Physician and Surgeon License
  • Must be Board Certified or Board eligible
  • Current CPR certification
  • Must be sensitive to the corporation’s diverse patient population
  • Demonstrate clear knowledge of Ampla Health’s clinic structure, standards, procedures and protocols

 

COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS:

 

  • Must have neat and legible handwriting
  • Must be able to interact with patients, vendors and co-workers courteously and calmly
  • Ability to communicate well with the public

 

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Works well with patients, co-worker and vendors in a generally comfortable environment office. Employees must possess the following physical requirement:

 

  • Must be in good health and able to lift up to 40 lbs and push up to 100 lbs (on wheels)
  • Must be able to work on feet the majority of the day without tiring
  • Must be able to hear adequately to auscultate B/PS
  • Must have vision which is adequate to read increments on tuberculin syringe accurately
  • Must have high manual dexterity and tactile sensation on fingertips
  • Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, bend, squat and sit, and twist/turn
  • Routinely exposed to blood borne pathogens and may be subjected to verbally and/or un behavior  patients
  • Routinely exposed to contagious/infectious diseases
