Job Description
Future Scholar Christian Academy- Childcare
As a child care center assistant director, your job is to help supervise a daycare or preschool facility and watch over children on behalf of their parents. In this role, you may help oversee children, provide early childhood education, and otherwise ensure a safe and healthy environment. As an assistant director, you work under the direction of the senior director to accomplish various daily tasks, including managing paperwork, creating reports for parents, collecting payment, and providing customer service. Assistant directors often supervise other staff members and help to ensure the childcare center's compliance with both corporate and legal regulations.
Responsibilities:
- · Assist Program Coordinator in the day-to-day operations of Future Scholar Christian Academy, LLC and fill in for the Program Coordinator when needed; primary function will be to oversee aspects of Parent interactions.
- Responsible for making sure initial paperwork is given to parents with all needed information and complete packets.
- Understand and comply with center’s rules as well as assess and be aware of federal and state laws regarding and maintaining compliance
- Maintain records of the building’s administration such as sign in sheets, prepare summary reports, process inspection and accident reports as well as being familiar with the process of reporting suspected child abuse
- Oversee all issues and concerns from parents, handle parent/teacher conferences and conduct center tours with parents, with teachers’ involvement as well.
- Will supervise and check curriculum and/or lesson plans submitted by teachers and to ensure it is done correctly, age appropriate and whether it will be beneficial to the children. Will distribute initial paperwork.
- Assist in planning school field trips that are fun and educational
- Meeting enrollment goals, assuring that all paperwork needed is in place from enrollment to program.
Qualifications:
- The primary qualifications for becoming a child care center assistant director:
- Two years of experience with early childhood care and development and excellent administrative skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of national and state education and safety regulations.
- State-specific guidelines, which could include things like passing a background check or getting permission to work with children.
- Fulfilling the responsibilities and duties of a child care center assistant director requires communication skills, observation skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to get along with children from diverse background
- Registry Level 7 and up
