GENERAL SUMMARY:

Robotic Welder Operators ensure parts are manufactured or processed in accordance with process control plans and that production output targets are met. This person must possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to troubleshoot and conduct minor repair equipment issues with minimal guidance or supervision. The role will be responsible to drive best practices daily through high standards of engineering, compliance and EHS standards.

JOB DUTIES:  

•          Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.

•          Stop machines to remove finished workpieces or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, according to required machining sequences.

•          Listen to machines during operation to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems.

•          Confer with supervisors or programmers to resolve machine malfunctions or production errors or to obtain approval to continue production.

•          Check to ensure that workpieces are properly lubricated and cooled during machine operation.

•          Clean machines, tooling, or parts, using solvents or solutions and rags.

•          Monitor robot weld performance and uptime against product productivity standards.

•          Monitor Welding robot executing the processes of fitting, burning and welding to avoid problems in relation to overheat, distortion, expansion or shrink of parts

•          Examining finished products and spare parts to verify that they meet specification requirements

•          In charge of preparing and setting up necessary tools and equipment to weld.

•          Other duties as assigned

•          Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.

•          Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

•          Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

•          Operation and Control - Controlling operations of equipment or systems.

•          Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

•          Attributes:

•          Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

•          Reaction Time - The ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.

•          Hearing Sensitivity - The ability to detect or tell the differences between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness.

•          Auditory Attention - The ability to focus on a single source of sound in the presence of other distracting sounds.

•          Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

•          Arm-Hand Steadiness - The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.

•          Ability to operate a fork lift

•          Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, manual, or schedule form.

•          Moderate physical effort required consisting of standing or walking 4-5 hours, sitting 4-5 hours, periodic lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and squatting, pushing and pulling, climbing and constant use of arms to fingers to inspect or test parts or tools, assist, write and type reports.

•          Knowledge of, and experience with, metal stamping products and processes.

•          Required to wear safety glasses and hearing protection at all times on the production floor. 

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION:

  

•          High School Diploma - or the equivalent (for example, GED);

•          2-4 years’ experience in a similar position
