Job Description
Job Summary: As a childcare teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment to facilitate the development and education of young children. You will plan and implement age-appropriate activities, provide basic care needs, and support children in their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Planning: Develop and implement lesson plans and activities that promote the holistic development of children, including language, literacy, math, science, art, music, and social skills.
Child Supervision: Provide attentive supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care, both indoors and outdoors.
Individualized Support: Recognize and accommodate the individual needs and developmental levels of each child, including those with special needs or learning challenges.
Parent Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress, behaviors, and any concerns or milestones.
Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where children feel comfortable, respected, and encouraged to explore and learn.
Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety regulations and policies, including maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, administering first aid when necessary, and promoting healthy habits.
Documentation and Assessment: Keep accurate records of children's progress, behaviors, and achievements through observations, assessments, and developmental portfolios.
Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices, early childhood education trends, and relevant research through ongoing professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred. An Associate’s degree or relevant Child Development Associate.
- Previous experience working with young children in a childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of child development theories and early childhood education principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Background check and clearances as required by local regulations.
