Bridgestone is the leader in innovative technology in the golf ball market and operates a clean, team-oriented, high-tech, lean manufacturing facility located near I-20 in Covington, GA. Qualified candidates must have a thorough understanding of operations and quality metrics and have an enthusiastic, proactive attitude. 3S and Kaizen experience a plus. Will be required to work rotating shifts, 15-16 days or nights per month, and every other weekend. Opportunity for growth. RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operates automated presses that mold and cure golf ball cores.
  • Puts rubber slugs into trays, loads trays into curing ovens, and bakes cores to harden them.
  • Changes molds according to predetermined schedule.
  • Tears flash ring from core edges and removes cores from molds using air hose.
  • Adjusts equipment to ensure continuous operation.
  • Sets machine controls to regulate forming pressure, temperature, and curing time of rubber in mold.
  • Inspects rubber cores for surface defects and verifies weight of cores.
  • Maintains, clean, safe, orderly workplace.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Requires high school diploma, or G.E.D., and one year experience in a manufacturing environment.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
