The Bar Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Bar Areas to ensure its on-going success. This position oversees and works closely with the bar service team to ensure they are providing incredible service to guests and are utilizing all available training. Combining industry knowledge and experience with an ability to produce an environment of positivism and energy for employees, the Bar Manager is integral in creating an entertaining & lively experience guest will want to come back to.



How do I make a difference?

Providing Incredible, Knowledge Based Customer Service
  • Ensure leadership is represented by maintaining a presence in the bar areas; assist in performing any tasks on the floor as necessary and work towards growing relationships with guests, creating a positive and energetic atmosphere while providing incredible customer service and a reason to return
  • Act as a knowledgeable resource on bar area operations for the bar staff; provide mentoring, training and coaching as necessary to ensure employees are exceeding the expected levels for food and service
Continuously Improving Results
  • Write schedules for service team employees to ensure staffing needs are met for daily operations as well as special events while managing payroll
  • Ensure the facility is in good working order and compliant with state and federal laws and regulations; etc.
  • Partner with the General Manager (GM) to ensure the on-going success of the Restaurant, and recommend ways to grow revenue
  • Responsible for controlling inventory and ordering supplies to ensure operation needs are met and there is a balance in available inventory
  • Act in the role of the Restaurant Manager in his or her absence

What skills, learnings, and experiences are required?
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in restaurant/ hotel management, food services or equivalent field
  • Background or experience in mixology acting in the role of bartender in a high volume, high end lounge/bar/nightclub
  • Supervisory experience, particularly in a restaurant setting, setting up events and evaluating resources
  • Ability to balance providing incredible service while ensuring laws and policies are strictly adhered to (ie: 100 proofing policy)
  • Proficient in Windows-based software including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Demonstrate teambuilding by communicating a common purpose, empowering team members to contribute their best and selecting candidates with a variety of skills and styles for inclusion on the team.
  • Use available resources to pursue goals and challenges with the intent of achieving results, striving for continued excellence and taking appropriate risks (Managing the 5 Measures)
  • Possess strong listening skills and hear many points of view without bias, asking clarifying questions to check for understanding
  • Practice process improvement, implements positive change and continuously looks for ways to improve work processes; separate and combine tasks into an effective workflow by maximizing resources and providing assistance when needed and supervise output ensuring high standards and quality are achieved
  • Drive knowledge based service by encouraging employees to learn about products and providing hands-on training that can be used to educate both customers and employees
  • Advise others within the organization, as well as external business partners, using relevant knowledge and skills to ensure that sound business decisions are made.
  • Display and order for freshness: ensure a consistent and fresh look across the department that highlights the peak of perfection and is easily shoppable with the freshest product available
What skills, learnings, and experiences are preferred and will set me apart?
  • Associate or Bachelors degree in hotel management, food services or equivalent field
  • Introductory Level Certificate of Court of Master Sommeliers
  • Experience managing inventory
  • Ability to effectively conduct business and deal with all levels of people, both internally and externally
  • Show commitment to developing food interest in self and others by collaborating with the Culinary Team to increase guest and employee knowledge and promote food appreciation
Work environment:
  • Work includes walking, standing for prolonged periods of time without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, frequent lifting and carrying, and occasional heavy lifting, along with continuous interaction with guests and co-workers in a fast-paced environment. Work involves exposure to various work environments, including temperature changes. The average weight range of items lifted is 10-20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds occasionally. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction).
