About this job
To support our goals as an industry leader, we are seeking a Solution Architect to join our dynamic Information Technology team in our San Diego office. The Solution Architect is responsible for providing direction, and having hands-on responsibility on building solutions and abstract frameworks. In addition, the Architect will also present the solutions and framework to business and IT leadership teams, achieving buy-in from all stakeholders.
Primary responsibilities include:
Collaborate with key business and IT stakeholders to define solutions that align with the company’s tactical needs and long term strategies.
Participate in SA COE, establish architectural standards, and contribute to IT product roadmaps.
Provide direction on technologies (programming languages, frameworks, tools, and techniques) to technical teams (developers and QA engineers)
Coach and mentor tech leads and developers on the team
Estimate and support the project manager in planning, overseeing task assignments that are aimed at executing a program with specific responsibility to ensuring all technical matters of the project run smoothly and as planned
Serve as contributor for any key corporate initiative as necessary to include planned and unplanned strategic goals
Should have ability to work in multi-tasking atmosphere and onshore-nearshore-offshore delivery model.
Required skills, education, and experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
Experience: 8-10 years of relevant experience
Ability to liaise with team members and business, with varying technical backgrounds, from management to designers and programmers
Technical Skills:OS & Servers: Windows, Linux, VMs
Languages: Java (J2EE), SQL, UML, JavaScript
Middleware: Application Server/ Container (Tomcat, WebSphere), MOM (WebSphere MQ/Rabbit MQ/Active MQ)
Database: RDMBS (DB2 / SQL Server / MySQL)
Cloud: AWS (S3/EBS, SQS, SNS, EC2, EB, CloudTrail, CloudWatch)
Frameworks: Spring (Core, Web/MVC, Webflow, batch, boot), ORM, UI MVC Frameworks (ReactJS, AngularJS)
Techniques: Design patterns (application design and enterprise architecture), SOA, Responsive Design, (Functional) Reactive Programming
Tools: Eclipse, Maven, Jenkins, GIT, Sparx EA, Visio, MS Office

Responsibilities
Develop visions, roadmaps, architecture for software solutions and ensure strategic adoption; technical designs are in line with and help shape the Enterprise Reference Architecture. 20%
Drive functional design, technical architecture and cost estimates for large and complex software solutions. 60%
Lead development of a technical competency center and contribute to Solution Architect COE. 10%
Mentor, train, and act as SME to software engineers and business analysts where needed. 5%

Qualifications
Education:
Required: Bachelor; Computer Science, Information Systems / Technology, Software Engineering, Engineering
Preferred: Master or Advanced; Computer Science, Information Systems / Technology, Software Engineering, Business Administration
Languages:
Required: English
Work Experience:
Required: 10 years software engineering, minimum of 5 years technical design; expected expert in one, or more, specific skill sets in business and product areas. Mastery of relevant programming languages - Java, Apex, .Net, etc. - SQL, system integration, OOD, SOA, UML, business process modeling. MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, SharePoint. Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with business leaders and stakeholders, IT leaders and technical staff.
Preferred: Worked in a publicly traded company in similar role. Experience in Cloud and other emerging technologies. Development across varying platforms - Force.com, application servers, etc.;skills necessary to utilize Cloud technologies, SaaS, ESB, BRMS, BPM, MQ in developing software solutions. Clarizen, Blue works, Sparx EA.
