Medical Billing Specialist

Aerotek is currently seeking to hire 4 Medical Billers for a contract assignment in Virginia Beach. This assignment will take place with a large health insurance company in the area. This is a long term 12 month contract assignment and is offering $14/hr.

Responsible for accurately balancing and reconciling health plan accounts receivable. Research, post, and reconcile cash receipts and AR premiums. Process all premium AR transactions including unapplied payments, credit/debit memos, customer refunds, write offs, non-sufficient funds and collections and in accordance with policy guidelines. Provide and maintain excellent customer relations with internal and external customers.


Additional responsibilities:
Must answer telephone or mailing inquiries regarding rates, routing, or procedures. Post charges and adjustments to patients account. Post and process patients payment to their account. Contact or follow up with patient insurance carrier, attorney, or claim adjuster in an effort to process patient bills. Set up payment arrangement with patients regarding patient's bills. Estimate market value of products or services. Calculate fee schedules. Responsible for coding operative notes and for auditing physician documentation for selection of E/M service codes. Provide excellent customer service skills and professional telephone conduct with patients, physician clients, and insurance company representatives. Post charges and adjustments to patients account. Contact patients to obtain or relay account information. Consult sources such as rate books, manuals, or insurance company representatives to determine specific charges or information such as rules, regulations, or government tax and tariff information. Prepare itemized statements, bills, or invoices and record amounts due for items purchased or services rendered. Resolve discrepancies in accounting records. Review documents such as purchase orders, sales tickets, charge slips, or hospital records to compute fees or charges due. Verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
