About this job
Currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer with 3+ years of experience with work experience on multiple mechanical design projects from original concept design to complete preparation of construction documents and specifications, including bid process submissions and post-bid procedures. This individual will mostly be working on Commercial and Health Care related projects. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer the candidate would provide training and mentor-ship to Mechanical Engineering Department Staff, including quality reviews and staff assignments. Candidate would be working in a fast-paced yet informal studio atmosphere and should be able to handle multiple projects at once.
The Job Description is as follows:
- Review working drawings to ensure elements of design, model, and detailing adhere to jurisdictional codes
- Liaise with all key stakeholders to resolve issues and administer construction documents
- Manage workload to ensure that work is done accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with policies, procedures, and standards, as well as best working practices
- Utilizes CAD and Revit software to plan, draw and prepare mechanical construction documents and makes alterations and recommendations as required.
- Reviews and edits technical specifications tailored to individual projects.
- Utilizes load calculation software to perform heating and cooling load calculations.
- Negotiates mechanical space requirements and building room locations to minimize the impact on building architecture.
- Attends regular production and project meetings with other disciplines, key stakeholders and architects, as required, to exchange information, provide project status updates, and coordinate resources.
- Researches and analyzes data to write design reports, compare systems and determine feasibility.
- Performs energy analysis and simulation of buildings to provide LEED energy analyses.
- Reviews and prepares code, city and developer comments to resolve design issues and questions pertaining to project.
- Performs site visitations to determine feasibility and cost effectiveness of potential projects.
- Utilizes industry best practices and established standards to ensure mechanical production adheres to corporate and professional expectation.
