About this job

This position will require the right candidate to greet customers as they visit and check in for their appointment. This clinic will take walk-ins that need help with registration. Strong customer service and personality is required to keep up with the team. This representative will also be responsible for helping handle all incoming calls to the hospital and clinic. They will be responsible for all redirection of calls, customer service, and hospital questions. Should expect between 40-60 inbound calls per day.

Answer all incoming calls to Clinic.
Schedule patients' Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health and Optometry appointments by telephone and in person; coordinate with triage for walk-in patients.
Greet patients on arrival and notify providers via the scheduling system; monitor patients in waiting room to facilitate efficient patient flow.
Interview patients to obtain demographic information.
Create patients accounts with accurate insurance information.
Verify and update patients' information.
Verify insurance coverage for each appointment; solicit financial information and determine eligibility for Sliding Scale Fee as necessary.
Arrange interpreter services for patients when scheduling appointments.
Provide HIPPA notice to patient and update in computer system.
Collect payments for co-pays and copy medical insurance cards.
Schedule transportation services for patients with scheduled appointments when applicable.
Call and remind patients of their Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health and Optometry appointments.
Call patients and reschedule appointments as needed.
Check cancellation line for cancellation of appointments and document.

Work Environment

This is a non-profit medical clinic in West Minneapolis. Hours are from 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday - Friday, Rotating Saturday's every 3rd week. Busy, fast paced, MUST take notes during training. There is a team of 8 medical receptionists with this group.

Qualifications

2+ Years of experience in healthcare
1+ Years of experience with Epic software is preferred but not necessary (Prelude and/or Cadence).
1-2 years of experience handling inbound calls in a customer service/receptionist role.

Preferred Bilingual - any language
