Chemist

Shift: 1st shift, Monday through Friday

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Based Materials Science or related field or Associates Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering or related field strongly preferred, related/relevant experience can be substituted for degree
• Understanding of organic chemistry and/or polymer chemistry
• Ability to work in a collaborative work environment
• Ability to take on a leadership role for new product development and marketing

Preferred Experience:

• 2-4 years' experience in a Chemistry or R&D role at a paint manufacturing/production facility or coatings industry with development of solvent- and water-based formulations and familiarity with environmental compliance and regulations
• Understanding in properties of various polymer materials and their contributions to the overall bulk and surface properties of a coating film
• Understanding of catalysis and coating curing processes
• Understanding of polymer or organic chemistry
• Understanding in standard test methods used in the evaluation of a coating
• Ability to work in a collaborative work environment
• Ability to take on a leadership role for new product development and marketing
• Willingness to travel within the US and abroad
