Machine Operator

2nd Shift

High school diploma / GED
$14 - $18 per hour max. based on experience
Temp to Perm

The purpose of the Machine Operator position is to aid in the manufacture of components and sub assemblies within the machine shop by using pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, and machine tools. The Machine Operator reads blueprints and uses measurement devices (caliper, micrometer, and tape measure) to ensure that parts comply to the blueprint, which will allow successful assembly of the final product at the customer's site.

KEY PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
* QC parts using measurement devices while reading blueprints
* Operates CNC lathes and mills as well as other tools to produce parts
* Learns skills of the manufacturing trade and retains information that is taught

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Familiar with calipers, micrometers and other measurement instruments to perform accurate measurements to part specifications.
* Operates, loads, and unloads CNC mills, lathes, saws, and conventional machines
* Deburrs parts with belt sander, drill press, or bench grinder
* Must read blueprints and QC own parts.
* Uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels of finished product
* Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units as required
* Has authority and responsibility to stop production when nonconforming parts are detected
* Follows safe manufacturing and material handling practices with adherence to PPE requirements
* Can follow written and verbal details to complete assignments
* Understands and adheres to company 5S standards
* Understands and adheres to employee handbook standards
* Can accurately record labor times and adhere to productivity standards
* Can compute, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions and decimals
* Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
* Work with management team to communicate all problems or ideas for improvement
* Supports and participates in continuous improvement programs
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
