Position Summary:

Drives jewelry sales and creates a positive customer experience through customer relationships, product knowledge and operational execution.

Primary Responsibilities:

Builds Customer Relationships by elevating customer engagement and interaction:
  • Proactively engages Customers and draws Customers in to the Jewelry department.
  • Establishes a connection with Customers to determine Jewelry needs, style, and preferences.
  • Invites customers to return to see a new product arrivals.
  • Balances individualized service with high Customer volume.
Actively Listens to Customers’ needs to recommend jewelry products:
  • Engages Customers in conversation to determine jewelry needs, style and preferences.
  • Listens for cues to tailor current and future interactions to better serve each Customer.
  • Encourages Customers to explore higher quality options and additional products to build on their Jewelry selections.
Applies Advanced Product Knowledge to build customer loyalty through quality and value:
  • Serves as a consultative expert on all product lines.
  • Shares product knowledge in an engaging way to inform Customer choice based on attributes, quality and value.
  • Links multiple products and upsells based on Customers' needs and style.
  • Proactively seeks out information on new products and trends to keep knowledge current.
Supports Operations and Company best practices:
  • Assists in the training of Associates to ensure department consistency.
  • Oversees signing, replenishment and jewelry service workload for fine/fashion jewelry.
  • Merchandises, replenishes and signs fine jewelry products.
  • Protects and secures merchandise in accordance with Best Practices.
Skills:

Required:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior selling experience.
  • Strong interest in learning and current product trends.
  • Ability to use technology as a job tool.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of work time standing or moving about the department within the store. Physical activies include: bending, stooping, lifting, climbing, carrying, walking and/or reaching on a frequent basis.
Preferred:
  • Prior experience in a retail and/or fine jewelry environment.
  • Prior experience interacting with Customers in a consultative capacity.
