Job Summary

Manages Customer Pickup Coordination (CPC) team(s) within a FedEx Ground (FXG) geographic district assignment to achieve CPC organization goals. Collaborates with Pittsburgh Ground Headquarters (PGH), field management, and internal/external customers to continuously improve processes and performance.

Essential Functions

•Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to: hiring, terminations, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, performance management and staff productivity.
•Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls the day-to-day operations of the department. Develops and implements policies and programs as necessary.
•Develops and manages the department budget. Ensures compliance and addresses variances and other budget concerns.
•Leads team(s) of CPC Coordinators to achieve department goals (e.g., customer issue resolution with defined timelines), which includes review, evaluation and follow-up with various stakeholders.
•Collaborates with various stakeholders (e.g., District Managing Director (DMD), district staff, Contractor Relations, Sales, Customer Service, all station management within assigned district, etc.) and participates in meetings to provide insight and recommendations for process improvements to achieve goals focus on customer issue resolution.
•Executes the CPC Organizational Change Management (OCM) plan with various stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of changes.
•Collaborates with PGH to provide feedback to improve CPC tools and processes.

Minimum Education

•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Communications, Engineering, or related field required. In addition to minimum experience, high school degree or GED and four (4) years related experience is accepted in lieu of degree

Minimum Experience

•Five (5) years experience required in transportation industry or related area with at least the following in an FXG, or equivalent if external, role:
•Two (2) years higher-level station management, Customer Pickup Specialist, or District Staff position (including DOES, DAQS, and DPOS) OR
•Four (4) years CPC Coordinator and two (2) years management

Required Skills, Abilities and / or Licensure

•Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
•Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information.
•Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.
•Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs.
•Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.
•Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team.
•Ability to build collaborative working relationships with internal and external customers, including Independent Contractors (ICs) and Independent Service Providers (ISPs).
•Ability to interface successfully with multiple and various stakeholders.
•Ability to travel up to 50% of time.
•Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies and procedures related to customer issue resolution required and knowledge of establishing new FXG pickups process preferred.
