Job Description:

The Stationery & Office Supplies Division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Technology Specialist to provide manufacturing technology support to US and International operations. This position is located in Maplewood, MN.

Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of Manufacturing Technology Specialist - Polymer Science will focus on Polymer Extrusion technology and Film Making projects for the division. Our department leads and supports the development and deployment of disruptive technologies as well as capacity expansion and continuous improvement projects, and a broad portfolio of NPI and NTI projects. Assignments can range from international expansion projects, to large NPI projects and top priority US continuous improvement projects.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

* Lead process development and scale-up of polypropylene extrusion technologies and the structured property relationships of films in SOSD operations

* Knowledge of cellulose acetate film processing

* Drive innovation within our operations using both internal and also external technologies

* Support of New Product Commercialization

* Collaboration & teamwork with laboratory and factory engineers

* Data & Operational Analysis

* Leadership of initiatives to drive COGS reduction in SOSD

* Project leadership for continuous improvement & capacity expansion projects (budget of $25M+ a year)

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline from an accredited university

* Minimum of three (3) years of combined experience in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing engineering, process engineering, product engineering, product development, quality, and/or EHS

Preferred Qualifications:

* Ph.D. or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science or related discipline from an accredited university

* Experience with web-based processing (polymer film making, coatings, laminating, curing)

* Experience with developing and/or commercializing new products

* Experience developing new film structures and/or process

* Project/Team leadership experience

* Self-starter, results driven behaviors

* Excellent communications skills (oral, written and presentation)

* Leadership, networking skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

Location: Maplewood, MN

Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international travel
