eMSSM Functional Expert North America

Level: T2

Job Purpose/ Overview

The Commercial function has heavily invested in its IT infrastructure and deployed the eMSSM system in 2016 to further embed the Mars Strategic Sourcing Methodology globally. MSSM2 is a core capability for the Commercial function in supporting our talent agenda and the objective of unlocking a significant amount of value for the corporation.

?The role of North American MSSM2 Functional Expert encompasses three key functions:

  • Center of expertise for the eMSSM (Ariba) system for the region, providing technical support, process knowledge as well as a link to the global FE community and business process owner.
  • To embed and sustain local competence, including formal and informal training of user community as well as provision of reporting to support regional effectiveness in system usage.
  • Partnering with the global development team to ensure system is fit for purpose. This requires participation and leadership of process and system improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Center of expertise for eMSSM:

  • Primary contact for system queries and support in Region
  • Provide basic support on eSourcing and work with Center of Excellence (CofE) to ensure best practice eSourcing tools are utilized by users
  • Understand sourcing and contract processes to 'support users
  • Lead Segment Transformation Community in North America via provision of best practices, representing a key link to the central team, an escalation point and supporting segment focused initiatives.
  • Manage eMSSM licenses for Region

User competence:

  • Lead the deployment of user training in North America region
  • Identify and maintain User community needs and train all users on the system
  • Work with Business Process Owner to embed processes within Region
  • Build and drive regional user community to share successes, best practices and support

System capability:

  • Recommend, manage and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Resolve or escalate system issues and ensure timely resolution
  • Be an active member of the FE community in order to develop and share best practices
  • Work with segment key users to understand potential continuous improvements rollout on Spend, Strategies, Contracts & dashboards in-line with BPO and central team

Finalize eMSSM roll-out in Mexico and if required help onboard additional segments.

Context and Scope

  • This is a cross segment role, dedicated to the North American region with occasional support of other regions expected.
  • Strong interaction with both the central Commercial teams and Mars IS.
  • High visibility to the North American Commercial Leadership Team.
  • Collaboration with other regions on best practice development

1. Education & Professional Qualification

Undergraduate degree required,

3+ years of work experience required with prior procurement or systems implementation experience. Both preferred. Good knowledge of core procurement processes required.

2. Knowledge/Experience

Advanced Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement skills

Savvy in regards to IT applications and systems

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
