Buyer - Full-time / Part-time

Responsibilities:

• Support purchasing department with strategic goals including supplier quality, cost reduction and on time supplier delivery performance.
• Maintain purchased part MRP related data including lead time accuracy, material costs, purchase minimums and item/vendor master data.
• Visit/audit suppliers as needed in compliance with quality systems audit requirements.
• Assist on global purchasing products and purchasing metrics.
• Resolve issues with suppliers related to price discrepancies and NCMR’s.
• Purchase MRO and indirect services as required.
• Support engineering by securing parts for new product development and projects from qualified vendors.
• Adhere to company and departmental policies/procedures.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree, or 4-6 years’ experience/training.
• 1-3 years purchasing experience for mechanical related parts and materials. 
• ISM (NAPM) certification a plus.
• MS Office proficiency, ERP/MRP

• Experience reading and interpreting drawings for mechanical parts.  Understanding of metric conversion.
• Mathematical aptitude to calculate discounts, percentages, etc.
• History of reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Problem solving skills and vendor selection variables.
