Client in Visalia are is currently looking for an experienced CNC Lathe Operator for immediate hire. First Shift. Compensation depending on experience.
SUMMARY:
Given a CNC program with a qualified setup and functioning CNC machine tool, level 3 machinist must be able to: operate the machine, change tool values as necessary, replace and qualify tooling as necessary. Level 3 machinist must be able to setup and prove out complex development and prototype program with no supervision. The employee must be able to take part in the development process providing insight based on experience. The employee must be able to inspect all basic features of parts and complete all QA requirements along with any other data collection activities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School/GED Diploma or trade school certificate a plus. Requires minimum of 3 years of machining experience on CNC Lathe equipment. Must have basic programming skills. Must have good shop math skills, drafting skills a plus. Horizontal experience a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Position requirements include, being able to work independently or as a member of a team . Must have a full understanding of G and M code functions. Must have excellent knowledge on CNC machine processes and capabilities. Must be able to manufacture development work and give feedback where needed with no supervision. Must have basic programming and drafting skills. Must be adapt at blue print reading. Must have good listening and communication skills. Must have good problem solving and inspection skills. Own tools a plus.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May be assigned limited supervision and training of level 1 and level 2 machinists.

Employee must be able to monitor CNC equipment while manufacturing parts in a manor that promotes safety. Must be able to inspect work and adjust tool and work offsets as needed to maintain tolerances as called out on the print, Process Plan or QA documentation. Must be able to provide solutions to complex problems when asked. Must be able to able to execute advanced prototype and development process plans. Must comply with all data collection activities. Must be able to build and develop tooling and work holding fixtures. Must be able to inspect work in process and when time allows inspect work of others. At times you will be required to operate more the one machine. When required the employee must comply with basic maintenance of equipment. Must be able to work as a Team member and must support all Dept. and Company goals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to understand and carry out written, verbal or diagram instructions. Must be able to offer solutions in development process. Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
May be required to stand for long periods of time. Employee is regularly required to use hands to feel or reach with hands and arms. Employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and must be able to lift up to 45lbs.
