Keystone Snowmaking Team Lead

 

The Snowmaking Team Lead is a supervisory position for the Keystone snowmaking department and reports to the snowmaking Assistant Manager. The Team Lead is directly responsible for the safety, leadership, evaluation and training of all snowmaking employees under his/her leadership. They will direct snowmaking operations through their controller, snowmaker lead and snowmaking staff.  Additionally, this position ensures proper operation of all snowmaking systems and equipment and coordinates all equipment repairs and maintenance with the snowmaking Maintenance Technician.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Directs the day to day operation of the Snowmaking staff underneath him/her; organizes and delegates daily workload.
  • Directly responsible for the safety of guests and all employees (including the snowmaking department and all other mountain operations departments that are affected by snowmaking) throughout all snowmaking operations.
  • Enforces and insures all company, best practices and department policies, procedures and safety guidelines are adhered to.
  • Works as a team with Trail Maintenance Supervisors and other Mountain Operations departments to ensure the production of a high quality product in areas needed.
  • Completes administrative duties on a timely basis including scheduling, shift production reports, maintenance requests, training, evaluations, and record keeping.
  • Understands and continually inspects ongoing snowmaking operations, both on and off trail, to ensure safety, quality and proper completion.
  • Constantly communicates with all staff members regarding snowmaking and other company business needs.
  • Represents the snowmaking department when the Snowmaking Manager and Assistant Manager are not available.
  • Implements initiatives with the Snowmaking Manager and Assistant Manager to improve guest service and teamwork within the Snowmaking department.
  • Assists with the installation and maintenance of snowmaking equipment and systems.
  • Works with the Snowmaking Manager and Assistant Manager on developing summer capital projects and long range planning for the department.
  • All other duties assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years Snowmaking Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years Supervisory Experience
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Intermediate level skier/snowboarder
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
