Position Summary:

Complete cash drawer reconciliation and retail pricing duties within the store, and perform team member duties as needed. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Complete daily reconciliation of cash drawers, including cash, lottery, money orders and coupons, and escalate discrepancies to the area assistant manager or store manager.
  • Follow proper procedures for armored car services.
  • Understand and adhere to the company's limits on cash shortages and/or overages; work honestly and effectively to control loss.
  • Count/record cash drawer totals accurately
  • Ensure shelf tags/strips are accurate and up to date.
  • Assist with preparing store signage and ensure content accuracy.
  • Assist with new/ongoing special programs/promotions.
  • Sort, log and distribute price change paperwork, labels and tags.
  • Provide guidance and assistance for ordering/receiving tags.
  • Conduct price and shelf tag audits to verify price integrity.
  • Research price discrepancies to ensure data integrity.
  • Maintain accurate written/electronic records and files.
  • Communicate with internal support departments and third-party vendors to resolve reconciliation problems and issues.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
  • Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
  • Notify management of customer/associate accidents.
  • Report all safety risks/issues and illegal activities to store management, including robbery, theft or fraud.
  • Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately and efficiently.
  • Utilize knowledge of the Point of Sale (POS) system to handle various tenders (e.g., cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers and coupons) and checkout procedures according to company policy.
  • Understand and adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, fireworks, videos, etc.).
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the area assistant manager.
  • Use equipment/materials properly.
  • Perform team member duties as needed.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of all key components of department operations (e.g., associate management, customer services, labor scheduling, expense control and computer assisted ordering)
  • Complete repetitive tasks quickly/accurately
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong oral/written communication and customer service skills
Desired Previous Job Experience/Education:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six months of bookkeeping or equivalent cash reconciliation experience
