Process Technician
The position is responsible for improving the quality of molded foam and lowering scrap rates. This person will work in a control room and monitor production & quality metrics. They will also be on the floor assessing quality and coordinating with line workers.
Responsibilities:
Hours: 2nd shift: 2:30PM-11:00PM, but training will be on days and may last months
The position is responsible for improving the quality of molded foam and lowering scrap rates. This person will work in a control room and monitor production & quality metrics. They will also be on the floor assessing quality and coordinating with line workers.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot & implement action plans to solve part problems. This will require interaction with Production, Tooling, Quality and/or Maintenance group
- Monitor and control mold temperatures, chemical stream temperatures and pressures, and systems calibration
- Line start-up and shutdown procedures
- Control pour patterns and programs
- Schedule changes
- React to process related quality problems including load variations. Work on advance quality planning teams
- Chemical unloading responsiblities
- Other duties as required
- Understand KPI's & BIC's and implement corrective actions to meet or exceed expectations
- Understand lean and implement 5S & Kaizens within department
- Good working knowledge of molded foam manufacturing process including interrelationship between tooling, chemistry and other equipment
- Experience with automotive industry and/or automated robotics is a plus
- Associates degree in a technical area, coupled with several years related experience
- Knowledge of quality requirements
- Good communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Positive and constructive attitude
- Basic computer knowledge required
- Required to work shifts
