SLR is looking to add to our team of excellence, seeking an experienced Dining Room Supervisor to join the dining service team at our ___________ community, providing leadership and supervision in the delivery of dining services to the residents, guests and staff. The Dining Room Supervisor will schedule and supervise wait staff, oversee set-up for all meals and special events, and ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the dining room to provide a gracious dining experience for residents. All members of the dining team are cross-trained and fill in for each other doing any job in the front of the house (dining room) or in the back of the house (kitchen) as needed. This position reports to the Director fo Dining Experience and the community's Executive Director.

The Dining Room Supervisor will have carious duties related to the scheduling, supervisoring & training of dining associates including preparing weekly staffing schedule, ensuring coverage for all shifts, and wait tables alongside wait staff, working with wait staff on all aspects of dining room set-up, assisting with training new wait staff, assisting with interviews, training and reviews as request by the Director of Dining Experience.

This position is highly interactive with the community's residents. The Dining Room Supervisor will be present at all mealtimes to greet residents and guests and will participate in meetings of the Resident Food Committee, meet with new residents as directed by the Director of Dining Experience, and assist residents as needed.

The Dining Room Supervisor will also assist with Special Events, working with various department managers in planning and execution of the events.

Weekend and evening hours may be required.
  • Minimum of one year experience managing a dining room in a restaurant or residence for older adults; Food Safety Certification preferred
  • Supervisory and training skills
  • Leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with others and promote a culture of teamwork, cooperation, enthusiasm and customer service
  • Time management and excellent communication skills
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and move supplies, trays, dishes, etc.
