Small Business Relationship Manager:
As a member of Santander’s retail banking division you’ll help serve Santander’s retail and small business customers as part of one of the top banks in the United States based on deposits. With principal presence in the northeast U.S., Santander’s retail division offers consumer and lending products to help our customers reach their financial goals. Santander currently serves nearly 2 million retail customers and 5.2& of the 2.7 million small businesses in the US footprint have a transactional account with Santander Bank.
Responsibilities:
  • Pro-actively operate at the heart of the local business community; target market is less than $3 million in revenue
  • Build new relationships and actively manage a portfolio of up to 150 customers with approximately $10MM in deposits and $2MM in loans
  • Responsible for driving performance within a cluster of 1-5 branches
  • Partner with branch managers and their teams including joint calling efforts, coaching and other support
  • Meet with prospects and customers at their place of business, with an emphasis on customers above $500,000 in sales and credit deals above $100,000

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in sales and relationship management within small business banking or business lending
  • Formal credit training preferred
  • Ability to build relationships with customers and develop partnerships across business lines
  • Candidates with strong cold calling experience and current business network preferred
  • Experience in partnering with Retail Branch teams, including joint calling, coaching and supporting a designated cluster of Branch Managers
  • General understanding of business credit and deposit products and services General understanding of business development principles Strong communication and presentation skills with individuals at all levels
